Face-to-face with an elephant seal pup in patagonia (part 3)
My first encounter with an elephant seal pup in Peninsula Valdes, Argentina. Much to their detriment, these pups are very curious animals and have little to no fear of humans - as demonstrated by these two who wanted nothing more than for me to join in on their playful wrestling match. In return for not joining in on the fun, I nearly got bowled over! These pups weigh about 140lbs and dont realize how they throw their weight around!

Three other Irish lads also went out about a hour from Mendoza on Wednesday the 8th of November. I had tried to go three times in South Africa but each time it was cancelled due to weather. I was third to go cos they what the fat boys out first but the clouds came in after lunch and they nearly cancelled my jump. We went up to 10000 feet anyway and it was hilarious. We were like a second world war bomber over Germany looking for a break in the cloud to see the target. The instructor caugh a glimpse of the airfield and we jumped straight away. Even so we missed the gap and went straight through the clouds in freefall. It was amazing, I could see my shadow on the top of the cloud and then just shot straight into it !! I couldn't see anything in there and breathing was difficult because, well its a big white fluffy cloud and not air!! That and we were going at 200kmph and the wind was deafening. Within a few seconds we came out the other side and the whole countryside opened up infront of me but I could barely see at free fall speed until he pulled the parachute and I was jolted up. Everything went quiet and it seemed I was just floating there and the view was fantastic. He let me steer for a while and then <b>...</b>
